How to Install Vagrant on Windows to create a Local Web PHP Server for WordPress

vagrant-logo

In this tutorial you will learn how to install Vagrant on Windows to create a PHP WordPress development environment. Vagrant is a tool to configure the development environment and it allows more customization than XAMP, WAMP etc. What’s more, there is a Vagrant box, VVV (Varying Vagrant Vagrants), maintained by WordPress that will install everything you need to develop in a WordPress environment. It will install Linux Ubuntu OS in a Virtual Machine and you can make dynamic content using the latest versions of php.

In this tutorial I am using Windows 10 so there is no issue with it. Also, you don’t need CURL to install it.

Click on each step tab at the left to see the detailed instructions at the right.

  1. VirtualBox from Oracle will make a Virtual Machine to be able to run Linux on Windows
